Family Business

The May 15 FNM at Home event on Arena was Historic Brawl, which is as close to legit Commander as we may ever see. I of course jumped right in with one of my favorite legends from Dominaria, Josu Vess.

Josu is the brother of Liliana Vess, the necromancer planeswalker first introduced in Lorwyn, so it felt appropriate to feature them both together in the deck, which I named “Family Business.”

A single-color Brawl deck can be a bit of a liability, but with plenty of removal, hard-hitting and recursive creatures, and the ability to drop an army of zombies along with your commander, you’re able to go over the top of most other strategies.

And, with zombies being a creature type that regularly show up around the multiverse, it should be easy to keep this list updated with new cards as they come to Arena.
